Card Security

We are aware that some members have received text messages informing them that their card has been locked and that they need to call the number in the message to get unlocked. These are scam text messages attempting to get your card information.

DCFCU’s debit card provider is Shazam. If there is a suspicious transaction, Shazam will reach out via phone call or text message to verify if the transaction(s) are legitimate. When Shazam contacts you, they will:

• Say it’s Shazam working on behalf of Dale Community Federal CU
• The phone number Shazam will call you from is 855-219-5399. This is also the number you should call to report fraud on your debit card.
• Ask about the last 3 transactions. You will confirm with yes or no.
• Say “blocked” not “locked”.
• Never ask for your account number.
• Shazam does not have any links to go to.
